The Efficient Removal of Methylene Blue Dye Using CuO/PET Nanocomposite in Aqueous Solutions

The present research investigates the application of green method to produce nanocomposites. CuO/PET fiber nanocomposite can be prepared in two ways. first way involves electrospinning technique by which waste plastic cups polyethylene terephthalate (PET) are converted into nanofibers. In second way, copper nanoparticle (CuONPs) is synthesized with natural capped plant extract sumac (Rhus Coriaria L., family Anacardiaceae) and CuONPs then combined as a filler PET nanofiber using cross-linked solvent. X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), field emission scanning (FESEM), energy dispersion spectroscopy (EDS), map elements distribution applied investigate surface modification alteration composite morphology. collected data show that produced nanocomposites have high area, well elements, magnificent shape, stable state. Furthermore, considered an efficient photocatalytic removal toxic methylene blue dye (MB) aqueous solutions. results study demonstrate efficiency for removing MB achieved short time low-intensity irradiation ultraviolet light.
